Swiss-based Jet Aviation has sold its airline and cargo handling division, Jet Aviation Handling, to Dubai-based Dnata for an undisclosed sum. Jet Aviation plans to focus on business and private aviation as its core businesses, and its two FBO operations in Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland, will remain part of Jet Aviation.

“The sale of Jet Aviation Handling is a strategic decision and in line with the group’s overall goals and priorities,” says Peter Edwards, CEO of Jet Aviation Group. “For our airline handling and cargo division it marks an end to a successful 40 year chapter within the Jet Aviation group However, the acquisition by Dnata will present opportunities for the company.”

Dnata divisional senior vice president Stewart Angus says: “Jet Aviation Handling provides the highest level of customer service to its airline customers in Switzerland and will be a perfect fit with our businesses in Dubai, Singapore, Australia and elsewhere.” “Dnata seeks to further develop the strengths of Jet Aviation Handling, ensuring that its customers enjoy the highest possible levels of customer service in Switzerland.”

Urs Zorn, Jet Aviation Handling’s senior vice president and general manager, says: “Dnata is eager to work with the current management team. Within the next few months, we will change Jet Aviation Handling’s corporate name so that we will be fully integrated into the Dnata group.”
