Romanian carrier Tarom has signed for three ATR 72-600s, taking to seven the number of the type the airline will operate.
The order, disclosed during the Dubai air show today, will see the carrier upgauge its fleet from the smaller ATR 42-500s.
Tarom chief executive Catalin Prunariu says: ”When we began to modernise our fleet, it made perfect sense to choose the ATR and as this mission continues while the world looks to recover from the challenging backdrop of the global pandemic, airlines need to have the most efficient aircraft possible. We are sure that ATR is the right choice; now and for the future.”
Cirium fleets data show Tarom has four ATR 72-600s and one ATR 72-500 in service, together with one ATR 72-500 and seven of the smaller ATR 42-500s.
