Sharjah-based Aerostar Asset Management has purchased Lufthansa's Airbus A300-600/A310 full-flight simulator to form the basis for a new training centre in the Middle East.

The simulator is still in operation in Berlin but will be moved to a new location within the next three to four months. This will either be in Sharjah or neighbouring Oman, but the decision has not yet been made.

The training device is to become operational again in August and should be joined by simulators for A320 and Boeing 737-600/700/800/900 aircraft in future, according to Shailesh Deshmukh, general manager of Aerostar's aircraft and simulation group.
