Bell has secured a 12-unit order from Horizon International Flight Academy for the 505 light-single helicopter.
Al Ain airport-based Horizon will use the helicopters to boost its training provision for civil and military pilots.
“The addition of single-engined helicopters with glass cockpits will enable us to meet the latest technology needs of aspiring pilots and will prepare them to fly with modern helicopters when they return to their units.”
Horizon already operates an all-Bell fleet, which includes the single-engined 407 and light-twin 429. The 505 is powered by a Safran Helicopter Engines Arrius 2R turboshaft and is equipped with a Garmin G1000 avionics suite.
“It is an incredible privilege to work with the fantastic team at Horizon International Flight Academy,” says Sameer Rehman, Bell managing director for Africa and the Middle East.
