The world of fine arts will meet aviation history in June 2014 with the arrival at Farnborough of Artliner’s Wind Tunnel Project.
The exhibition will take place during the Farnborough Airshow at the historic wind tunnels at the airport, which played a key role in the development of British aviation after World War I, but were closed in the 1960s.
Artliner says that the project is aimed at engaging the art world, aviation industry and local schools and the community through a series of events and an educational programme that will take place during the airshow.
It is planned that the project will take place every two years thereafter, coinciding with the Airshow.
Artiliner, which was founded in 2011 by Tatiana Ojjeh, has organised similar exhibitions at other airshows, including at Dubai, EBACE and a special Damien Hirst exhibition during the London Olympics at Farnborough.
