Goodrich has signed a pair of support agreements with Emirates Airline. The first is a general terms agreement (GTA), which provides the framework for all future maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreements between Emirates and Goodrich. The second represents the first application of this GTA, under which Goodrich will deliver overhaul and support services for the suite of 16 passenger evacuation slides which equips each of Emirates' Airbus A380 ultra-large airliners. All maintenance work will be conducted at Goodrich's Middle East MRO campus in Dubai.

"Both the GTA and the SBA are significant milestones in the growing business relationship between Goodrich and Emirates," said Joel Haldemann, Goodrich's vice president Europe, Middle East and Africa MRO. "The agreements add to the substantial body of MRO work we already perform for Emirates, and demonstrate our drive to deliver effective, regionally based MRO and support solutions, all while focusing on speed and ease of doing business."

Ammar Al-Zaben, Emirates' vice president of procurement (aircraft), added: "We view the two agreements with Goodrich as win-win for both companies. The GTA will vastly simplify and speed up discussions for future tender opportunities, reducing time and resource requirements and increasing business efficiency. Additionally, Goodrich's comprehensive, quality support offerings and locally based MRO campus make it easier to do business. These were key factors in our decision to outsource this activity and to award this SBA to Goodrich."

Goodrich's Middle East campus offers MRO services for nacelle systems, cargo systems, de-icing systems, hoists and winches, sensor systems, engine controls, power systems and evacuation systems.
