A prototype personal air and land vehicle - a motorcycle/ gyrocopter chimera - could be ready for test flights in a year if €10 million ($12.7 million) can be raised. The three-wheeled vehicle, as conceived by Netherlands-based Spark Design, could reach 108kt (200km/h) on land and in the air, produces 70dB, has V/STOL capabilities and would fly below 4,000ft (1,220m). If certificated it would be made in Canada for the US market. Several suppliers have been selected and it would use the Renesis rotary engine from Mazda's RX-8 sports car.
