IEC International's DVD (digital versatile disc) in-seat player has entered service, with the handover to Qatar Airways of the first of 11 Airbus A320s equipped with the system. The aircraft are fitted with the system in the first class cabin. In the case of Qatar Airways, a library of DVDs has been supplied, although IEC says it can also provide seat-mounted DVD servers. UK-based IEC supplies the 220mm (8.6in) screen and arm assembly, DVD player, passenger control unit and power supply.
