EADS is cementing its strategy of technological innovation with the appointment of a chief technology officer to its executive committee. To be based in Munich, Jean Botti will serve as “the focal point for research, technology development, development of design and manufacturing tools and innovation across the group”, EADS says. Botti previously held a top management position at US auto parts maker Delphi. In 2005, EADS spent g2.1 billion ($2.6 billion) of its g34.2 billion revenues on research and development.
