EADS marketing, strategy and global development chief operating officer Jean-Paul Gut is leaving following a disagreement over organisation of the firm’s sales and marketing activities.

Gut will leave on 1 October following a four-month notice period, during which he will retain his board position. EADS says he will receive two years’ salary as a severance payment.

EADS says: “This follows a divergence in views over the organisation of the sales and marketing function within the Group. Nonetheless, EADS and Mr. Gut had no disagreement over strategy.”

It adds that a continued co-operation with Gut, under which EADS will continue to tap his skills, will be announced in the near-future.

Marwan Lahoud, who is chief executive of missile systems specialist MBDA, has been appointed as chief strategy and marketing officer with immediate effect. Lahoud will also assume Gut’s EADS executive committee position.

Lahoud’s role as MBDA chief executive will be assumed by Astrium Satellites CEO Antoine Bouvier. In turn, Bouvier will be replaced by EADS Astrium Space Transportation chief Evert Dudok.
