Scandinavia's European Aeronautical Group (EAG) and US electronic flight bag (EFB) specialist Flight Deck Resources have joined forces to market their products worldwide. "We will offer a single-source hardware and software solution for electronic flight bags," says Keith Lockwood, chief executive of Flight Deck Resources, based in Irvine, California.

EAG, formerly SAS Flight Support, is an independent subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines that last week launched an electronic version of its navigation documentation product called eAerad.

Flight Deck Resources specialises in Class 2 and Class 3 EFB systems, dubbed "SkyTab", providing hard-ware, mounting units and data services. It has previously used the US government charting data service, WACO, says Lockwood. "The tie-up with EAG enables us to offer our solutions worldwide," he says.

The company recently signed its first deal to install a Class 2 EFB on a Boeing 767 with SkyLink Airways of Turkey. "We also offer this system on the Next Generation 737, 757, and DC-10/MD-11," says Lockwood. He adds that he expects to hear within 60 days on bids submitted for two Class 3 EFB applications on 777s.
