EasyJet has decided not to exercise its option to buy Germany's DBA from British Airways. The move was widely anticipated after the German pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit resisted efforts to impose the easyJet business model on DBA. EasyJet puts the failure to take up its option down to "the rigidity of German labour laws" and the deterioration in the financial performance of the carrier due to Lufthansa's "highly aggressive pricing policy".
