Ibis Aerospace has chosen Honeywell's Apex integrated flightdeck as an optional upgrade for its Ae270 single-engine turboprop. Apex avionics have already been selected as standard on the Extra EA-500 and Grob G160 turboprop singles, with deliveries beginning in 2005, but no date has been set for availability on the Ae270, says Ibis.

On the Ae270, the standard Apex system will include three 265mm (10.4in)-diagonal liquid-crystal displays, engine indication and crew alerting system, digital autopilot, communication/navigation radios, flight management system, Mode S transponder, weather radar, and dual-channel air-data attitude/heading reference system.

Ibis will also offer Honeywell's KFC 325 digital autopilot on the Ae270, beginning in 2005. The standard cockpit, with pilot's-side Chelton Flight Systems electronic flight instrument system, will continue to be available, says Ibis.

The Czech/Taiwanese joint venture expects certification of the Ae270 in October, leading to first deliveries late in the first quarter of next year.
