US-based Air Routing International is celebrating the 30th birthday of its corporate flight-handling service.

Founders Rudy Fabre, Tom Balousek and Richard Wilkens are still associated with the company, which today serves Fortune 500 companies, governments and commercial operators. “They have kept their eyes focused on our clients’ needs while weathering changes in the overall economy and in the business aviation industry,” says ARI vice-president Tim Maystrik.

The industry’s first international trip-support organisation, ARI offers services that range from permits and route planning to weather reports and refuelling. It also handles auxiliary business trips, including onboard catering, ground transport and hotel reservations.

This year the company aims to expand its array of online services for operators. US domestic operations are a particular target, according to Maystrik. “It has become much more difficult for operators to fly domestically because of challenges with airspace requirements, flow control and fuel purchasing. We will soon launch new tools to help operators fly domestically.”
