Gulfstream Aerospace has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the FAA to install an optional silencer on the Gulfstream G200’s APU. The new device cuts noise from the surge-control valve by 10-12 decibels - a 50%-plus reduction. G200 operators can have the silencer installed at any Gulfstream service centre, while the upgrade is available as an option on new G200 aircraft.
