Airbus this morning announced its largest single sale of corporate jetliners – six A350XWB Prestiges to MAZ Aviation of Saudi Arabia. The deal is worth $1.5bn at list prices and the first delivery will be in 2015.

“Some of these aircraft are for our customers, while others are for our own purposes,” said MAZ chairman Mohammed Al-Zeer as he signed the contracts this morning.

“The range of the aircraft was interesting and the cabin was very spacious - spacious enough to stay in for long journeys. It can go point to point from anywhere in the world. This is highly important for global business leaders, as business is becoming so global,” Al-Zeer says.

Edouard Ullmo, Airbus executive vice president for Asia-Pacific, says: “This is a win-win situation for Airbus and MAZ. MAZ is not a broker, and we are keen to point that out. The due diligence process took six months alone and MAZ will be offering a complete solution.”
