Aviation Partners has announced it has taken orders for more than 100 blended winglet systems for Hawker 800/800XP aircraft, which increases the aircraft’s range by up to 180nm, as well as adding a 2,000ft higher initial cruise altitude and reduced fuel burn.
API says market interest remains strong for 800/800XP retrofits. Several US facilities are able to install the technology and API says it is finalising negotiations with two overseas installers.
API has upgraded 10 Boeing VIP and head of state 757-200s, as well as US government special mission aircraft. The company says the global market today for blended winglet VIP upgrades stands at 25 757-200s, 5 767-300ERs and 25 737 airframes.
