Aircell is to offer a new SwiftBroadband connectivity solution for the business aviation market, enabling operators to access email and light internet services at speeds of up to 200kbps.
Based on Thrane & Thrane's (stand 190) new AVIATOR 200, the system pairs the avionics equipment found in Aircell's existing SwiftBroadband solution with a small, low-gain satcom antenna. It will operate exclusively over the SwiftBroadband 200 service from Inmarsat.
As well as accessing email and internet services via laptops or mobile devices, operators will also be able to use cabin handsets to make and receive voice calls.
