Lockheed Martin has delivered the first of Egypt's fifth batch of F-16s, procured under the Peace Vector V programme. The first aircraft was delivered a month ahead of schedule and will remain at the Fort Worth, Texas, plant for a year for maintenance training. The 21 Block 40 F-16s will be used to form an additional squadron. Egypt plans to buy 24 more Block 40 F-16C/D, in an order expected to be signed this month.
