Embraer saw its business jet deliveries almost double in the third quarter of 2013, compared to the same time last year. Between July and September the Brazilian airframer shipped 25 aircraft – 12 more than the third quarter of 2012.
The Phenom 300 was the star performer with 15 deliveries – eight more than last year – including two more Signature-branded versions to NetJets. So far this year the fractional ownership company has received eight of the seven-seat business jets out of an order for up to 120. The aircraft will head-up its light cabin offering in the US and Europe.
Four large-cabin Legacy 650s and six Phenom 100 entry-level jet deliveries were also up on last year’s third quarter tally by three and one aircraft, respectively. Notably, however, there were no Lineage 1000 deliveries in the third quarter.
So far this year Embraer has only delivered one of its top of the range super-large business jets, but according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online Fleets database, six more Lineage 1000s are lined up for delivery in the fourth quarter.
In total, Embraer delivered 66 aircraft between January and September – compared to 44 jets in the first nine months of 2012 – consisting of 52 light jets and 14 large jets. Earlier this year Embraer said it expected to deliver 105-120 business jets, worth between $1.4 billion and $1.6 billion in 2013, split between 80 to 90 light jets and 25 to 30 large jets.
