Embraer has delivered its 100th Legacy business jet to Czech Republic-based management and charter company ABS Jets. The super mid-size aircraft, the third for ABS and fourth delivered to the Czech Republic to date, was launched by the Brazilian airframer at the Farnborough airshow in 2000 as the business aircraft derivative of the ERJ-135 regional jet. The unveiling also marked Embraer's first foray into the business aviation arena.
Embraer says the deliveries of the now renamed Legacy 600, have "greatly increased over the last few years" from 13 in 2004 to 27 in 2006 with up 30 aircraft forecast in 2008. "The jet has built a 13.6% share of the super mid-size market in just five years," says Embraer executive vice president, executive jets, Luis Carlos Affonso.
