Brazilian airframer Embraer recorded 10 cancellations for Embraer 190 aircraft in the second quarter of 2012 ended 30 June, the manufacturer confirms.
The company says the cancellations reflect orders from more than one carrier but did not identify the specific operators.
As of 30 June, Embraer reported a firm backlog of 200 E-Jets, which reflects orders for the Embraer 170, 175, 190 and 195 models. E-190 orders comprise more than half of this backlog, with 122 aircraft. The airframer has delivered 56 E-Jets so far in fiscal 2012, with 35 handed over in the last quarter.
According to Embraer, it plans to deliver between 105 and 110 E-Jets in 2012.
Embraer chief financial officer Jose Antonio Filippo told reporters on a media call today (31 July) that the company plans to keep producing its E-Jets at a rate that satisfies that number. "We are not working at this point in time [towards] a reduction in activities," Filippo says.
Total orders since the programme launched stood at 1,058 E-Jets as of 30 June, which includes a recent commitment from Chinese carrier Hebei Airlines for five E-190s.
