Brazilian airframer Embraer saw third quarter revenues grow by 30% to $1.36 billion, up from just over $1 billion in the same period a year ago.
EBITDA for the period stands at $188.3 million, a margin of 13.8%, against a figure of $130.6 million in the third quarter of 2010.
Its firm order backlog has now increased to $16 billion, it said, which includes the recent sales of a total of 17 aircraft to Lufthansa, aircraft lessor GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) and Kenya Airways. The commercial aviation backlog now stands at 248 aircraft.
The company is forecasting 2011 revenue to be in the range of $5.6-$5.8 billion.
It delivered 28 commercial aircraft in the quarter and 18 in the executive aviation sector, taking delivery totals for the first nine months of the year to 73 and 49 respectively.
The commercial aircraft division saw revenues rise to $996.4 million, up 41% on the $702.5 million generated in the same period in 2010. It also rose 12% against the second quarter of the year where revenue stood at $887.6 million.
For the year to date, the commercial aviation operation has generated revenues of $2.63 billion, which represents 69.8% of Embraer's total business.
