Embraer has completed tests of the self-protection system it has developed for the airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) version of its ERJ-145. The trials demonstrated the countermeasures dispensing system, here seen in action as chaff and flares are deployed around the aircraft. Embraer has delivered seven of eight AEW&Cs to the Brazilian air force and will begin deliveries to the Greek government later this year. Mexico has also ordered AEW&C and maritime patrol aircraft.
