Airbus has conducted a high-speed rejected take-off with the A350-1000 ahead of commencing the variant’s flight-test and certification campaign.
The full-speed take-off abort is one of the last ground tests performed before the aircraft is cleared for its initial flight.
Airbus confirms that the test has been carried out. It is aiming to conduct the maiden flight of the -1000 on 24 November.
The aircraft is set to fly some three-and-a-half years after the A350-900 first became airborne in June 2013.
Forty-five A350-900s had been delivered by the end of October this year, including 30 in the first ten months of 2016.
Airbus has obtained orders for nearly 200 A350-1000s, which will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.
