Ethiopian Airlines has expanded its maintenance partnership with Lufthansa Technik to include components for its Airbus A350 fleet.
The German MRO specialist says Ethiopian has signed a 10-year, hour-based agreement covering equipment repairs and spares-pool access for the widebody fleet.
In June, the Addis Ababa-based Star Alliance member took delivery of the first of 14 A350s it has ordered.
A similar deal exists between LHT and Ethiopian for the airline's Boeing 787 fleet. Additionally, LHT provides certain component services for Ethiopian's Bombardier Q400 turboprops.
The two companies began their co-operation during the 1990s. LHT's senior vice-president component services Harald Gloy says that for the MRO group Ethiopian represents "a strong and successful partner in Africa and beyond".
