Europe is pressing for a two-stage approach to ending subsidies for large civil, and is trying to persuade the USA to agree first to a deal on the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, confirms Philippe Delmas, head of regulatory and government affairs at Airbus. The USA is refusing the deal, as the 787 is launched and the A350 is not. Calling the A350/787 the "easy question", Delmas says: "Let's deal with the mutually acceptable way to launch both products, but it cannot be the end of the story."
