The joint European Air Chiefs (EURAC) have met to discuss joint European pilot training for 2010 and beyond. Proposed by Belgian air force chief of Staff Lt Gen Guido Vanhecke, "Eurotraining" would use a new jet trainer - "Eurotrainer"- to replace Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jets and BAE Systems Hawks. The project is seen as a follow-on to other European projects such as the Airbus Military Company A400M. EURAC nations are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK.
