EVA rotates leaders

Chang Kuo Cheng has taken over as the new chairman of Taiwan's EVA Air following the promotion of incumbent Cheng Chin Chuang to the post of vice-chairman of parent company Evergreen Group.

Chang is the third son of Evergreen chairman Y F Chang. He previously headed Evergreen International, a major company within the group with a broad range of business interests including hotel, insurance, advertising and printing operations.

Evergreen frequently moves its top executives into different roles within the group. On 1 January Kitty Yen took over as EVA's president from Daniel Wu, who was only appointed to that job in April last year.

In other news, EVA has appointed Clay Sun to head its European operations, which are in steady expansion with a fourth weekly flight to Taipei from London Heathrow. Sun, who was previously in charge of the carrier's worldwide cargo sales and marketing, will be based in London.
