KLM's board has appointed Fr‚d‚ric Gagey (48) as the airline's chief financial officer to succeed Rob Ruijter. Gagey was previously vice-president finance at Air France. Under the merger agreement between the carriers, a KLM executive will soon travel in the opposite direction and join Air France's top team.
Sydney Isaacs has filled the new posts of senior vice-president, corporate development and chief legal officer for Air Canada's holding company, ACE Aviation Holdings. Isaacs joined Air Canada in 2000 and worked on its restructuring.
Jeff Carr has become the new finance director at easyJet, taking over from Chris Walton, who has resigned after a couple of profit warnings last year. Carr comes from Associated British Foods.
IATA has recruited industry veteran Bill Diffenderffer from IBM to put some weight behind its Simplifying the Business campaign.
