Szucs bound for Mexico

Mike Szucs is immigrating from one low-cost carrier to another, and moving up from his recent post as chief operating officer of easyJet to become chief executive of Mexican start-up VivaAeroBus.

Not only is Szucs changing jobs but also camps. He left easyJet in June and is now assuming the top post of an airline backed by Tony Ryan, founder of easyJet's main rival, Ryanair. Ryanair itself has no link to VivaAeroBus. The Mexican start-up is 75% owned by local transport company IAMSA, and 25% by RyanMex, a subsidiary formed by Tony Ryan's investment firm and another Irish investor.

Former Ryanair director Conor McCarthy is also advising on the launch.
