Aircraft services start-up Executive Aviation Taiwan plans to add two additional business jets by early next year, bringing the number of aircraft it operates to five.
The recently established firm operates a Hawker BE400XP, a Gulfstream G200, and a Bombardier Global Express, says Peter Claeys, the company's vice president of sales and marketing.
Executive Aviation Taiwan received its air operator certificate from Taiwan's civil aviation authorities on 18 May. The AOC permits it to engage in services such as medical evacuation and repatriation flights, business charters, aircraft management and maintenance.
The BE400XP is used mainly for medical evacuations and has performed a number of missions already, says Claeys.
The company will have five aircraft by early next year. In late 2012, it will most likely add an additional BE400XP for the medical evacuation role, and it hopes to acquire a mid-sized jet in early 2013.
The chairman of the company is Philip Yang, a Taiwanese businessman with two private jets. The company's president is Lawrence Tiong, who has been involved in Asia's business aviation sector since the early 1990s.
