Investigators of the 17 July Trans World Airlines Boeing 747 crash near Long Island, New York, say that they are now certain that the explosion which brought the aircraft down took place "in the centre-tank area" of the fuselage. The US National Transportation Safety Board says, however, that the cause of the explosion is still not clear.
