Extra Flugzeugbau was planning to receive instrument flight rules (IFR) certification for its Extra 400 touring aircraft on 20 November from the German civil aviation authority, the LBA.

The German manufacturer, which began production of its DM1.4 million ($745,000), six-seat piston single late last year from its Huenxe, Düsseldorf base, is to deliver the first IFR equipped aircraft by early December - five standard visual flight rules aircraft have been handed over.

Meanwhile, Extra has received an order for six two-seat Extra 300L and four single-seat Extra LX aerobatic aircraft from the Romanian Aerobatic and Display team.
