Aerovias Colombianas (ARCA) is to be fined $68,000 for ignoring a US Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness directive (AD). The airline was operating US-registered aircraft and was thus required to comply with FAA ADs. Colombian authorities suspended the airline's operating certificate on 24 January, and it remains grounded. Inspections found that the carrier was operating McDonnell Douglas DC-8-55Fs without a required main cargo-door vent system.
