Guy Gardner has been appointed director of the US Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Gardner, a former astronaut, was most recently director of quality assurance in US space organisation NASA's office of safety and mission assurance. Anne Harlan, formerly special assistant to the regional administrator of the New England region, is named deputy director.
