The Farnborough Aerospace Consortium is continuing its international expansion with member support offices in Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi, following on from its opening of two offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

FAC chief executive Ross Bradley says: "We have seen over $20 million of new contracts since the UAE offices opened in 2007. We expect to double the number of participating companies in the UAE by the end of the year - this model works for our members and is generating real business. It is also creating new members for FAC, as we see aerospace and defence companies outside the south-east looking at our innovative business support as a major advantage of membership.

"As part of our strategy to support members trading in emerging markets, we have agreed to open three further support offices across India. We already have 10 members who are looking to join the initial group and, like the UAE, we expect this number to grow quickly as members see the new business opportunities. Each member who works with us will get a comprehensive new business service as part of the package, which will include both marketing and sales support."
