TRW is showing its prowess with aircraft technology. The company has developed the world's first variable frequency electrical system for a civil jet aircraft and also aims to eliminate the use of hydraulic systems. Ken Maciver, TRW Aeronautical Systems' (Lucas Aerospace) executive vice-president and general manager, explains why to Steve Nichols.
