The A380 route-proving flight from Frankfurt Main to New York Kennedy on 19 March was operated with 468 passengers, 26 Lufthansa flight attendants and four flightcrew on board. The A380 took 35min to board, left Frankfurt on time at 9:00 and arrived in New York ahead of schedule.
The route-proving programme is assessing facilities for check-in, boarding, disembarking, fuelling, ground handling, catering, in-flight entertainment and environmental control. The findings will allow operators to draw up A380 scheduled service timetables based on operational forecasts derived from the route-proving.
