According to the Warsaw Business Journal "Lockheed Martin has waltzed away with the g4 billion deal to equip the air force with new fighter jets, its F-16 effortlessly shooting down the French Mirage and Anglo-Swedish Gripen". The article was headlined "The Eagle has Landed". Do you think someone should tell Boeing?
Meanwhile, it appears the Greeks have signed for some of the world's most expensive helicopters. Agence France Presse reports: "Greece will buy 12 transport helicopters from a US-Italian consortium of Lockheed Martin and Alenia Tactical Transport Systems for $272 million (€250 million), the defence ministry said on Wednesday. A contract signed by Greece and the LMATTS consortium included an option for the purchase of three more C-27J helicopters." A footnote indicates that "included in that programme is the purchase of 42 European NH90 helicopters for €651 million".
