Gulfstream recently celebrated milestones on two of its most popular business jet programmes.

In June, the OEM rolled out the 200th Gulfstream G550/G500 at its manufacturing plant in Savannah. “The roll-out of this aircraft represents a significant milestone,” says president Joe Lombardo. The G550/G500 was introduced in 2002 and won the 2003 Robert J Collier Trophy for its development team.

As of June 2008, the in-service G550/G500 fleet stood at 172 aircraft. Showgoers can see an example of the type in the static display.

The company also unveiled the 200th Gulfstream G200 in April at the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) manufacturing plant at Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel.
The ‘green’ aircraft then flew to the Gulfstream Center of Excellence completion facility for mid-cabin business aircraft in Dallas, Texas, for outfitting and painting. “Manufacturing 200 aircraft of a single model is a significant accomplishment,” says Lombardo. The G200 was introduced in 1997.

The company also recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Luton service centre.
