Trade visitors are making use of an online business appointment booking service, which is available at the show for the first time. And according to show organisers, the system has had an encouraging take-up.

Visitors and exhibitors can able to see an alphabetical list of the companies attending the show and to make appointments to meet the representatives of those who have signed up to the scheme. For trade visitors, this innovation has meant the planning of efficient use of valuable time and resources at the show.

“The online meeting booking service is really good, and easy to use. We have received several requests for meetings including one from an important contact in Japan, so the provision of this service has worked really well for us,” says Rachel Woolerton of Hexcel Corporation.

So, how does it work? When trade tickets are purchased online, buyers have been reminded on-screen to view the exhibitor list, identify the companies they wished to meet at the show, and request appointments to do so. They have then clicked on the calendar logo and identified a mutually convenient time to meet. Trade ticket holders have been able to filter the exhibitor list by business category, to identify those that they are most interested in meeting during the trade days.
