Air China has placed a blended winglet order for 30 Boeing 737 aircraft, to be delivered from 2011.
Winglet manufacturer Aviation Partners Boeing says the winglets help reduce fuel requirements and improve payload capability. It says that "with operations to all corners of China and beyond", Air China will save more than 11.3 million litres (3 million USgal) of jet fuel annually with this order, "eliminating 29,000t of carbon dioxide emissions per year".
Aviation Partners Boeing is a Seattle, US-based joint venture between Aviation Partners and Boeing.
