Messier-Dowty (Safran Group) has achieved a historical milestone in the development of the Boeing 787 landing gear, with the first successful take-off and landing of a commercial flight-test aircraft equipped with composite braces on the main landing gear.
This test flight took place on Tuesday on Airplane ZA001 over Boeing Field and was announced at the show yesterday. It is the culmination of major design and development efforts to introduce composite technologies on key structural landing gear components for the 787 program.
