Piaggio is stepping up its sales effort for its P180 Avanti II special missions aircraft as economic conditions continue to squeeze demand for corporate/VIP versions of the twin-engined turboprop.
The Italian airframer is also aggressively pursuing the UK market, where it has failed to secure a single sale to date.
"We can do so much better here," said Piaggio America president John Bingham at the show, where he was seeking to reinforce the company's commitment to the UK market. "There is so much pent-up demand in the UK for an aircraft like the Avanti II and we are now aggressively looking to grow this market and build a firmer foundation here."
