Rockwell Collins has secured an active role in the Atlantic-interoperability initiative to reduce emissions (AIRE) as part of a consortium led by Swedish air navigation service provider Luftfartsverket. Other members of the group include Swedavia, SAS, and GE Aviation, and its goal is to develop initial concepts applied to AIRE, which is an agreement between the European Commission and the US Federal Aviation Administration to develop more environmentally friendly air transport on transatlantic routes.
