Air India has selected Rockwell Collins to service and support its fleet of 27 Boeing 787-8s.
The contract will begin upon delivery of Air India's first 787 from Boeing, which is expected to occur in October, according to Flightglobal's Ascend database.
Rockwell Collins will provide services under its dispatch programme. These include guaranteed spare parts, systems updates, technical repairs, performance monitoring and a dedicated programme manager.
"As the Asia-Pacific airline market segment continues to grow, we are positioned to provide swift, highly-reliable service to our customers that keeps downtime to a minimum and cost predictable," TC Chan, vice-president and managing director of Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins, said in a statement.
