Turkish Aerospace Industries (H4/H2) is introducing its new Hurkus basic training aircraft at the show. It is the country's first attempt at building a home-grown military aircraft.TAI introduced the aircraft with much fanfare during a press conference at the show but did not bring an example to Farnborough.The Turkish defence industrial ministry signed the initial contract to build the aircraft in March 2006. Work progressed through to this year when the aircraft was rolled out in June.The aircraft is being developed in two phases. One is a basic version to be fielded sooner. A later version will have advanced features included.
