TT Electronics Technology (H1/D14) is demonstrating its Halosensor drill targeting system. The Halosensor range is designed to accurately locate blind holes even in complex or curved structures such as aircraft wing assemblies. By eliminating the need for pilot holes to be drilled from the inside, a major cause of re-work or scrap is avoided.
"Demand for the drill targeting system has been such that we are now actively seeking additional distributors to cover selected territories," says Richard Hughes, business manager at Cambridge, UK-based TT Electronics Technology.
Among aerospace manufacturers that have already adopted the Halosensor system are Bombardier, Embraer, Boeing, BAE Systems, EADS Casa and Lockheed Martin. Since 2003, it has been used in the production of all Airbus aircraft.
