UK-based Marshall Aerospace has delivered the second of two C-130s it was commissioned to upgrade for the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

The aircraft, G-781, first flew at the company's Cambridge facility on 29 April, and completed 12 test flights before its delivery on Thursday.

The first of the two C-130s, G-988, was delivered in January. Both aircraft are ex-US Navy and, when acquired by the Dutch, had last flown in 1991.

Derco Aerospace dismantled the aircraft and transported them from Tucson, Arizona, to Cambridge, where Marshall Aerospace restored them to C-130H build standard, fitting a glass cockpit and performing cabin upgrades.

The UK company will now equip the other Dutch C-130s - G-273 and G-275 - with upgraded avionics.
